Wellington Boot
One of the biggest events of Country Racing, The Wellington Boot will be a guaranteed highlight of TAB Saddle-Up Sundays. First run in 1981, The Boot, as it is known, has taken on a life of its own attracting huge crowds and even celebrities over the years.
Wellington will come alive for the Wellington Boot Racing Carnival, held over the weekend of March 24th and 25th 2012. It is Sunday’s Boot that you won’t want to miss and this year the stakes have been raised with an increase in prize money taking the pool to a whopping $60,000!
With entertainment for the little ones, fantastic racing for punters and plenty of competitions on track, there’s something for everyone.
The 32nd running of the event is going to be bigger and better than ever!

Make Tracks To The Country
Explore the unique Central Western district of New South Wales. Wellington is a 4.5hr scenic drive from Sydney and is located where the Macquarie and Bell Rivers meet at the foot of Mount Arthur. Don’t want to drive? There are regular train and coach services to Wellington Valley. You could also fly in to Dubbo and catch a bus transfer to Wellington.
There’s More To See
Whilst visiting Wellington you can’t go past the famous unique cave complex, see the Cathedral Cave and admire one of the largest stalagmites in the world. Take a trip to the Burrendong Arboretum Botanic Gardens but keep an eye out for the emus. Alternatively, take a break from the rat race and enjoy a relaxing picnic by the banks of Lake Burrendong. Only a short drive from Wellington is the famous Dubbo Zoo or you can sample the delectable food and wine of nearby Mudgee.
